SPOTLIGHT & Giveaway! ON A WRITER’s LIFE

SPOTLIGHT ON A WRITER’s LIFE

aif-available-now

when-the-ink-flows-final-infographic-for-cheryl-b

astheinkflows

By Melony Teague

If you love reading and books as much as I do, you will appreciate that wonderful feeling when you turn the last page and you sigh with satisfaction, reading a good book is such a wonderful gift. I am so grateful for authors, their craft, their skill, their heart and their resilience. It is because of what they do that we enjoy hours of entertainment, through reading.

This made me want to spotlight authors here today and give them a shout out for a job well done.

One of the main reasons for writing the devotional, As the Ink Flows, was to encourage authors, writers and speakers in what they do. Writing can be a lonely profession, with many hours spent crafting words into a story, many times without much contact with the outside world for days on end, and then the scary business of marketing and book signings and such, where they put themselves out there—usually out of their comfort zones. Most writers are introverts, but there are some extroverts out there among them.

Writers write, because they can’t not.

Please join me today in giving a shout out to your favorite authors, and thanking them for what they do.

THANK YOU AUTHORS!

As the Ink Flows is a dazzling goldmine of inspirational nuggets so creative and concise, it’s a must-have devotional for writers, pastors, speakers, or anyone in ministry!” —Julie Lessman, award-winning author of The Daughters of Boston and Heart of San Francisco series

“If you are a writer… a blogger… a creative person … a speaker … a ministry leader … or you know someone who is, As the Ink Flows would be a phenomenal asset for your devotional needs.  The devotions are quick to grab before getting ready in the morning, on your lunch hour, or during a writing break but are also full of profound truth that settles in the heart and points to Jesus. These co-authors love Jesus and love writing, and it shows, their different writing voices complementing each other and providing options for all sorts of preferred reading styles.” —Carrie Schmidt. I enjoy writing stand-alone stories most, but have delved into several mystery series for my readers because that is what they requested. Hopefully, God willing, I will be around for many more years to write. My writing area is covered with outlines of many stories to come.

My favorite book that I have written so far is The Big Mistake Club. It took me two years to write. The book is very emotionally charged and a lot of people don’t agree with the ending. It received a five-star rating from Readers Favorites. Something may be in the works for my book but I have to keep it hush-hush for now!

“I have always wanted to be a writer. My mind works in strange ways. I can sit and look at an object or a scene in front of me and a whole story will form in my mind and I run to write it down. I am a story-teller. This is what I was born to do. I walk the beaches talking out loud, forming new books in my mind. People think I am crazy and maybe I am. But, my kids love me anyway!”
